Shown here, circa 1950, is James Melton standing alongside his "Green Goddess" Daimler of which only a handful were produced in the late 1940s and early 1950s. This car was 20 feet long, got about 6-8 miles to the gallon, and cost $25,000 new. Seated inside are Melton's wife, Marjorie and his daughter, Margo.
