This issue of Down Beat from April 8, 1953, features Stan Kenton. I’m not sure who the singer replacing June Christy is, but my first guess is Chris Connor (?) Can anyone set the record straight?

Definitely February 11, 1953 was the first recording date of Chris Connor with Stan Kenton. It should be her on the photo although June Christy came back to the band for the European tour starting August 22, 1953. Kenton's record company forced him to bring JC to Europe - and the promoter for The tour Harold Davison as well. Jazzrealities
Hollywood, California- For several decades now, Joey Altruda has been revered for his musical contributions and larger than life personality. Considered a renaissance man by many the world over, Altruda runs far and deep in his cultural knowledge, always thirsty for more. He is also an impressario, writer, and overall tastemaker in the world of retro culture.
