Jerry Lewis plays it straight in both of these brilliant films. Of course The King Of Comedy is a classic for many, but Funny Bones is a sleeper that deserves wider recognition. I highly recommend it. Five Stars For Both. Together they make a serious Jerry Lewis double bill. Order Funny Bones DVD From Amazon Order The King Of Comedy DVD From Amazon
Back in the 80’s someone gave me a crazy mix tape that contained all sorts of weird snippets of x rated material and celebrities at their worst. One particular piece that stood out was a 1950’s radio transcription of Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis’ promo for The Caddy. They get through the first take innocently enough, then everything seems to go straight to hell with each additional take becoming more & more raunchy. I just found this brilliant YouTube piece that someone put together, using this banter as the soundtrack for the film’s trailer. Kudos!
