Joe Bushkin & The Original Supermodels

This is one of my all time favorite lounge record covers featuring pianist Joe Bushin surrounded by the biggest models of the 1950’s; on his shoulder-Gina Hall; on his lap- Nancy Berg; directly above him-Sunny Harnett; sprawled across the piano-Suzy Parker; on the very end-Ginny Taylor. These were the real supermodels of their time, decades before the term was coined, back when models were debutantes. Also of note is the photography by none other than Richard Avedon.

A classic from photograher Richard Avedon, Paris,1949. Dorian Leigh was one of the top rated models of her time, with a career spanning from the late forties into the sixties. She was probably the first model to receive public attention and name recognition. Her youngest sister was 50's fashion icon Suzy Parker.
