Una Merkel-Unconventional Beauty
It’s sad how time forgets the great talents of bygone eras. Una Merkel was a wonderful screen personality whose career spanned five decades from the 1920s through the mid sixties. She was an unconventional beauty with a real biting wit and impeccable timing, probably best remembered for her role in 42nd Street (1933), but my favorite is W.C. Fields’ “The Bank Dick” in which she plays the daughter of Fields’ character Egbert Souse.
